  • This piece encases a very unique style. I like how in the beginning it starts out somewhat mysterious in a way, builds to a cadence, then enters the realm "through the doorway". I enjoy the piece as you have written/performed it, but I have some constructive criticism that came to mind. I think you could have started the piece with a little bit less motion at a moderate tempo generating enough suspense yet at the same time not too light and uneventful that the listener gets deterred. You want the beginning build-up section to allow the listeners to feel and envision through the notes that they are steadily getting closer and closer to this doorway as tension builds. You need to give them enough time to mentally imagine approaching this mysterious doorway.I thought it would be pretty cool if you created a theme/motive to coincide with the whole "entering the door" part of the piece which you could refer back to towards the end to reaffirm their entry to the other side, and allow them to reflect upon the progression of the music. You might want to watch that a few parts toward the end don't become a tad repetitive. To counteract repetitive segments you could possibly add a 3 against 2 rhythmic portion or change some of the 8th notes to 16th's against the harmony periodically. I hope you can have some fun with this. I enjoyed listening, and keep it up! ,...,...,...,...,...,...,...,...,...,...,...,...,...,...,...,...,..., Black Chopin
