  • DOES RAP MUSIC DESERVE TO BE SEPARATED FORM HIP-HOP?

WITH THIS NEW SOUND THAT HAS TAKEN HIP-HOP, RADIO, MUSIC VIDEOS, CLOTHES AND THE STREETS BY STORM... DOES RAP DESERVE TO BE SEPARATED FROM HIP-HOP?

I SAY YES, RAP SHOULD BE SEPARATED FROM HIP-HOP ONCE AND FOR ALL. THIS NEW TRASH STYLE OF HIP-HOP HAS COMPLETELY KILLED THE GAME. NOW NO ONE SELLS RECORDS, AND NO ONE HAS ANY REAL GOOD MUSIC, NOR ALBUMS. ITS BEEN A MINUTE SINCE ALBUMS WERE HOT AND PEOPLE WERE RUSHING TO THE STORE TO BUY THEM. THERE WAS A TIME WHEN THERE WOULD BE A SEASON OF ALBUMS COMING OUT AND THEY ALL WERE HOT AND THEY ALL SOLD... THINK ABOUT THE 1995-2001 ERA..U KNOW WHAT THAT ERA IS ? THE RAP ERA. THE STREET ERA. THE TALES OF STRUGGLE ERA. THE ERA THAT GAVE LIGHT, LIFE AND LONGEVITY TO RAP SHIT EVERYBODY IS NOW CALLING THE HIP-HOP GAME.
NOT THIS AUTO-TUNE , HOMO SOUNDING, R&B HIP-HOP COLLAGE THEY GOT GOING ON TODAY. THIS CLUB HAPPY GO LUCKY BULLSHIT. THESE DUDES IS STUCK ON MAKING ONE STYLE OVER AND OVER. ONE DUDE COMES OUT WITH SOME DECENT NEW SHIT... EVERYBODY WANNA BITE. NO ORIGINALITY..

WE NEED TO SEPARATE THE TWO GENRES OF MUSIC ONCE AND FOR ALL. THEY ARE NOT THE SAME, NOT ABOUT THE SAMETHINGS, THEY DONT SOUND THE SAME, THEY ARE NOT THE SAME. THERE SHOULD BE RAP RADIO STATIONS SEPARATE FROM THE HIP-HOP STATION THAT RUN THE SAME 10 SONGS ALL DAY.
THERE SHOULD BE RAP AWARD SHOWS WHICH PAY HOMAGE AND RESPECT TO RAP ARTIST WHO MAKE RAP MUSIC. THEY PUSH THE HARD SHIT , THE STREET SHIT, THE RAP SHIT INTO THE MIX-TAPES HAVING MOST HOT SONGS LOST WITH NO WAY TO BE HEARD OR FOUND. NOT ANYMORE.
    THE TIME IS NOW..
WE MUST SEPARATE RAP FROM HIP-HOP BECAUSE ALL WE CAN DO IS BENEFIT FROM IT WITH BETTER MUSIC, AND ALBUMS.

    THE TIME IS NOW!!!!

ARE YOU A HIP=HOP ARTIST OR ARE YOU A RAPPER?

Plain & simple: Some consider it selling out, other may consider it progression

Rap = struggle + hussle... to get out of a situation (the hood)M. C. James

and once you're out of the situation and are able to floss over those who have not...you seemingly transition into a

    "Hip Hop Artist" (the club)

...Now what situation are you in?

Moreover, The 'struggle' is quite different at the Hip Hop Artist level...

So interestingly a hip hop artist who once was a "rapper" could appear as one who turned their back on the situation or struggle they were in (the hood)

i disagree fam i think u got it backwards hip hop is 4 the real artists, and lyricsists, the new crap they puttin out now a days is rap.......but either way music is music its people out there who are trying 2 get rid of both...and in a way i agree  we should get rid of both and start from scratch ...and 4 this reason great lyricsists like jay z ,nas, rakim,krs1,and others that i didnt mention are afraid 2 leave the game , because they dont want 2 c "rappers"ruin what it took so many people so long 2 establish......on the other hand music does evolve with every generation......but as for me i miss the good ol days......stop makein B/S and get back 2 the craft........or we might not make it ......hip hop or "rappers"

    peace
