J.C. has recently been accepted as an entertainer on the prestigous and very competitive Governor's Oklahoma Arts Council Touring Artist Roster as one of four entertainers inducted.
In addition, J.C. was accepted on the official entertainment roster of the Mid-America Arts Alliance which supports the presentation of touring artists in performing arts venues across our six-state region: Texas, Oklahoma, Nebraska, Missouri and Arkansas. Mid-America is home to many talented performing artists, and their regional Artists' Registry provides an online directory of some of the best. By invitation, he recently have a 1-hour performance for the Governor of Oklahoma.
A pro member of the Nashville Songwriters Association International (NSAI), J.C.’s specialty is entertainment. Entertainment has not only been his fascination, but his passion. He has been a professional quitarist for many years, and is equally proficient on the keyboard synthesizer and American Indian flute. Independent sales of his music have done very well.
Won by competition, High Eagle has recently been honored with the title of Artist of the Year by the Jimmy Lawson worldwide radio station for FY2009. A country artist who is more than merely an entertainer — he is deeply interested in people, desiring to tour widely for others to hear his music. Not only a performer, but also an NSAI song writer, he has 192 registered musical compositions to his credit, and has just recently completed in Nashville a new country CD demo of original songs ( hear audio samples on this page).
- The mark of a good songwriter, J.C.'s music connects with the listener emotionally. His music has much appeal because his listeners have been there, identifying with the same feelings, emotions and experiences.
Born in Oklahoma, the heart of country music, J.C. has gained much on-the-job experience. He has traveled coast-to-coast performing to popular and critical audiences on various venues including live outdoor concerts, and has appeared with top name headliners.
A former instructor of music at the University of Houston, High Eagle has taken his music around the nation and the world introducing it to a wide genre of audiences and yes, even symphony audiences! He has performed with the Milwaukee Symphony, Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and the National Symphony Orchestra at the prestigious John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in Washington, D.C.
J.C. plays on the heart as well as the guitar, presenting his songs and music as he feels from within. For all their simplicity, his music and writing bubble with fresh ideas about things-imaginative ideas about love, humor, a time, a place-things in everyday life of the common man or woman. A committed musician, he brings a new slant to country music with a new twist to old themes.
The sound of his guitar and heart-felt songs are sometimes a blending of both traditional and contemporary melodies that permeate the soul and cry for attention to be heard. They seek to bring to the world something fresh and unique yet "commercial" in music on a higher plane, that has not been available heretofore.
