Rene (Reen) Sims "The Cowgirl That Sings" My name being Irish and not French seems to be hard to pronounce for many.It’s simply like Irene without the I. That said understand me as a Singer/Songwriter/Guitarist. I was born and raised in Jackson, Tennessee. My family moved to Fort Worth, Texas in 1973 and I have spent the better part of my life there. .I learned to play the guitar at the age of 16. I began preforming at the age of 16 in local theater and 18 in clubs and restaurants in Fort Worth metroplex area. I have also spent time living 4 years in North Hollywood, California and 10 years in DeRidder, Louisiana where I owned and operated a horse boarding and training facility.I was a competion Show Horse rider of Arabian horses and Thoroughbreds in 3 different disciplines.English Pleasure ,Western Pleasure and Dressage. As well as a riding instructor.I put over 20 years into the horse business. I continued to write many songs and record. I have recorded,written all the songs, preformed and produced my Cd “It’s About Time” in 2003.Recorded at Patriot Recording Studio in Burleson ,Texas with the great Chris Booher from “Asleep At The Wheel.” You can find my music for sale at many online stores .I have a new compliation Cd now being listed on Songcast called “The Best of Rene Sims”. When you listen to my music listen with your heart and mind. I will take you to many places in life and you will understand the simplicity as well as the complexities.I write about life, love,the places I’ve been and children!As well as stories in my head that come out in song.I hope that what comes through me will make you feel, see, and think as music is meant to do! I am a member of The Fort Worth Songwriters Association. I am a member of ASCAP and also have ASCAP Publishing as Just Rene Publishing.I have over 75 songs registered with the Library of Congress.
